Far From The Maddening Crowd

The last of Hardy's novels with a "happy" ending, this book tells the story of a woman surrounded by three suitors. Their actions ultimately shape the course of the novel and it is only by navigating through their proposals that Bathsheba can discover her own place in Victorian life. The book begins and ends with Gabriel Oak, a man who is among the best written heroes of Victorian literature, and his story of loyalty and devotion. These are characters we can see glimmers of ourselves in and witness our own struggles brought to life by their interactions. Highly recommended.

Cromartie High School

For me, Cromartie High School is one of those special shows that you encounter once in a lifetime. It's a show that has no rival and no siblings.

The irony, sarcasm and timing used in this show push the limits of flawless. Much of the comedy won't bring tears to your eyes, but, it will make you think about what you've seen and heard even years after your first viewing. I first saw this anime roughly 2 years ago. To this day, I still watch at least a few episodes every week.

In a world where most Anime is hyperactive and obnoxious, I find Cromartie to be ultimately relaxing and easygoing. The soundtrack that accompanies the show contributes greatly to creating this relaxing environment.

Cromartie is one of those rare jems that gets an A+ from me.
